Intercollegiate Athletics

Comprised of 16 men’s and women’s teams, more than 400 student athletes, and nearly 100 coaches and staff, OHIO’s Athletic Department holds the future of OHIO in the potential of every student-athlete. Our student-athletes maintain a graduation rate of 94 percent for those who complete their athletic eligibility – higher than the Division I institutional average - and among the nation’s best.

OHIO Athletics not only enhances college life, we reinforce academic achievement, promote institutional pride, and keep the University connected to alumni and the local community. We have a long tradition of conference championships, memorable game moments and individual player achievements, but we also boast a tradition of charitable giving that strengthens the Bobcats as they compete to win.

Your Support

As we work to become the best program in the Mid-American Conference, we must be sure that our achievements live into the future. Your support can help ensure that the Bobcat tradition lives on. We believe that you should be able to support what matters most to you, so you can designate your gift to any area you desire. We have several exciting current initiatives that will benefit from your generosity:

  • Supporting the Sook Academic Center, which will help OHIO student-athletes to continue to build on recent successes in the classroom;
  • Renovating the Convocation Center, a landmark in southeast Ohio for more than 40 years;
  • Growing the Men’s Basketball/Football Enhancement Fund to ensure that the facilities for these squads are up to the level required for success in a tough Division 1 field;
  • Increasing support that comes from the Ohio Bobcat Club, the life-blood of OHIO Athletics.

These are ambitious goals - goals that will require a substantial investment of time and resources. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and friends, we’ve made great strides.

An $8M gift from the Walter family for the construction of the Walter Field House jump-started our fundraising efforts and reinvigorated our journey to become one of the premier athletic programs in the nation.

Your gift – no matter the amount – makes a huge difference in the lives of our student-athletes. From athletic scholarships that attract the best student athletes to infrastructure changes that will build national prominence, your support is essential to our success.
