Professor of Sociology

Dr. Hatch oversees undergraduate programs and curricula and supports teaching, learning and assessment initiatives in the college. She chairs the College of Arts & Sciences Curriculum Committee and manages college-level curriculum processes; provides oversight for the A&S Undergraduate Student Affairs Office; represents the college on the University Curriculum Council; advises A&S departments and programs on curricular and student learning assessment matters; and serves as the college liaison to other colleges, campuses, and units on issues related to academic programs, instruction, and assessment. She handles undergraduate student grade appeals following disposition at the department/program level and works with the A&S Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Student Affairs to handle other undergraduate student issues that arise. She reports to the dean.

Dr. Hatch is a Professor of Sociology, specializing in Gerontology, the Sociology of Education, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
