The Chillicothe campus employs undergraduate student workers in many offices or units on campus. Common examples include the Quinn Library, Student Services, Health & Wellness Center, IT, Hilltop Cafe, Dean's Office, and Facilities. If you are interested in seeking student employment on campus, available positions will be posted on the Ohio University Human Resources web site and can be accessed (here).

Additionally, graduate student employment and opportunities for students at other OHIO campuses will be posted (here).

The process for obtaining employment as a student simulates real life experience. Students will complete an online application and provide standard business documentation (resume, references, and cover letter) to begin the employment process. Students meeting or exceeding requirements for the position will receive a request for an interview. The top candidate will receive a job offer. This process mimics the process that a student encounters upon completion of their program. The student positions are designed to give invaluable experience to the student in an office, laboratory, or facilities setting.

The Ohio University Student Hourly Employment Policy states: To be eligible for student hourly employment at OHIO, a student must:

➢  Comply with the Immigration Control and Reform Act of 1986 by completing a valid I-9

form within 72 hours of the start date of employment.

➢  Be enrolled for classes at OHIO, Hocking College, another post-secondary

institution, or a secondary school, during the current semester, immediately previous semester, or immediately upcoming semester (e.g., enrollment spring semester allows work to continue through summer semester). Homeschooled students must supply appropriate documentation.

➢  Non-OHIO students must provide verification of student status to the

hiring department.

Additional eligibility restrictions apply for Federal Work Study and PACE positions. Refer to section on “Types of Student Employment” for additional information.
