March 22, 2019 : Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program coming to OHIO Chillicothe


Ohio University Chillicothe is set to host a regional cohort for the Master’s in Education in Counselor Education degree program provided by the Patton College of Education at Ohio University. The program is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2019.


The program is designed to accommodate working professionals, with a blend of online and evening face-to-face classes being offered. Students of the program will be able to earn their master’s degree within three years to further their counseling training. Upon completion, graduates will be eligible to complete the National Counselor Exam and apply to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Ohio.


The Council of Accreditation for Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) is an accredited program and consists of a minimum of 60 semester hours of study. These hours include a counseling practicum and an internship. Coursework will also include information on working with families and addiction.
