The 7th annual “Beat the Heat” Family Film Series returns to the Athena Cinema June 29
The Athena Cinema invites audiences to stay cool and make a positive impact in Athens this summer through its annual “Beat the Heat $2 Days” fundraiser for Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (formerly Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Athens). The film series will feature seven family film events and fun for all ages from June 29 to Aug. 17.

The 2019 Athens Jazz Festival offers a full week of performances, celebrating America’s music
The 2019 Athens Jazz Festival, began Monday, April 8 and will last until Sunday, April 14, with several performances, presentations and jam sessions surrounding America’s music. Most Jazz Fest events are free and occur all around the city and campus at places like Casa Nueva, Tony’s Tavern, the Athens Public Library, Athens Uncorked, ARTS/West, Memorial Auditorium and Glidden Hall.
