Ohio University Athletics Names Boals Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Former team captain Jeff Boals has been named the 19th head coach in the history of the Ohio University men's basketball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Jim Schaus today.

OHIO’s Swimming and Diving women’s team selected for CSCAA’s Scholar All-America award
Ohio University’s Swimming and Diving women’s team, coached by Mason Norman, has been selected as the winner of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America’s (CSCAA) Scholar All-American award.

Football opens 2019 Spring Practice March 4
The OHIO Football Team held the first of 15 spring practices on March 4 inside Walter Fieldhouse, signaling the unofficial beginning of the 2019 season. After starting the day with position meetings, the Bobcats took the field in shorts for individual, positional and team drills.

OHIO SAAC hosts Bobcat/Bulldog Indoor Field Day
The third annual Bobcat/Bulldog Indoor Field Day is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, inside Walter Fieldhouse. The event will feature eight stations facilitated by Ohio University student-athletes and Athens High School students, designed to engage the children in physical activity.

Football announces 2019 Spring Football practice schedule
The Bobcats will hold 15 practices over the span of 41 days. Spring practice will begin on Monday, March 4, inside Walter Fieldhouse and will conclude on Saturday, April 13, at Peden Stadium.

Athletics participates in 2019 MAC Mental Health Awareness Week
The Ohio Student-Athlete Advisory Committee wrapped up "Mental Health Awareness Week" as part of the Mid-American Conference Council of Student-Athletes' yearly initiative last week. The Ohio SAAC committee members hosted tabling events, workshops and were active on social media.

Ohio University Dance Team wins University World Cup Championships
For the first time in Bobcat history, the Ohio University Dance Team traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the 2019 UCA and UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships.

1968-69 OHIO Men's Basketball Team began 50 years of Convo magic
Led by 20th-year head coach Jim Snyder, the 1968-69 Ohio men's basketball team opened the Convo in style and kicked off five decades of memorable games, fantastic finishes, championship celebrations and colorful personalities that have given life to the Roundhouse On Richland.

Athletics to celebrate 50th anniversary of Convocation Center Saturday
Ohio Athletics will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center on Saturday with a Sibs Weekend basketball doubleheader. Tickets are $5. Internationally known entertainer Red Panda will perform at halftime of the men's game.

Erica Johnson named MAC East Basketball Player of the Week
Johnson earned weekly conference honors for the second time in her career. She's the first Bobcat to earn the honor twice this season. She shot 60.0 percent from the field, 58.3 percent from the 3-point line and 73.3 percent from the free throw line in two wins.

Women’s Golf announces 2019 spring schedule
The Bobcats will compete seven times during the spring season. The Bobcats will open the season Saturday, Feb. 2 at the 2019 Spring Challenge Cup.

Football's Joe Anderson, Joe Lowery to play in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl
Senior offensive linemen Joe Anderson and Joe Lowery have been selected to compete in the eighth annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, in Pasadena, Calif.

Athletics offers free admission to Women's Basketball showdown against Central Michigan
The undefeated Bobcats are off to their best start in program history and are one of just three unbeaten teams in the nation. They received two votes in the Associated Press Women's Basketball Week 10 Poll on Jan. 7. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

Former Baseball Coach Joe Carbone inducted into ABCA Hall Of Fame
Induction to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the organization. Carbone joins his former head coach, Bob Wren, who was inducted in 1978. Carbone spent 24 seasons (1989-2012) as the head baseball coach at Ohio and is the program's winningest coach.

Football's Frank Solich named 2019 AFCA president
Bobcats Head Coach Frank Solich moves up from first vice-president and succeeds outgoing president Bill Cronin of Georgetown (Ky.) College. Solich has guided OHIO to 10 bowl games with four victories, including two in a row.

OHIO Football shuts out San Diego State, 27-0, in 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl
The Bobcats earned their fourth bowl victory in program history and won back-to-back bowl championships for the second time in program history. OHIO finished a season with at least nine victories for the second year in a row and for the sixth time in 14 years.

2019 OHIO Football MAC opponents revealed; Homecoming game is Oct. 12
The OHIO Football Team has learned who its eight Mid-American Conference opponents are for the 2019 season. The Bobcats will host their annual Homecoming game on Oct. 12.

Football's Joe Lowery named MAC Player Of The Year by Pro Football Focus
According to Pro Football Focus, Lowery was third-highest graded offensive tackle across the entire nation. He allowed just nine total QB pressures on 334 snaps in pass protection. He also led the nation's tackles with his 85.3 run-blocking grade.

Athletics announces 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl ticket information
Tickets are on sale now for the Dec. 19 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. OHIO alumni, football season ticket holders, Ohio Bobcat Club members, faculty/staff, students and parents of students are encouraged to inquiry about a special ticket offer.

Athletics announces 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center celebration plans
OHIO Athletics will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center on Saturday, Feb. 2 with a Sibs Weekend basketball doubleheader as the women's team battles the Ball State Cardinals at 1 p.m. ET and the men's team takes on the Akron Zips at 3:30 p.m. ET. Tickets for the doubleheader are $5 and include admission to both games.

A.J. Ouellette named MAC Player Of The Year by Touchdown Club of Columbus
The 2018 MAC Player of the Year award will be presented during the 64th Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Express Live! in the Arena District. Ouellette earned All-MAC First Team honors for the first time in his career.

Bobcats football team to battle San Diego State in DXL Frisco Bowl Dec. 19
The game will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Kickoff is 8 p.m. ET, and the contest will be televised on ESPN. The Bobcats are making their 12th bowl appearance, 10th in 13 years and fourth in a row.

Kylan Nelson is now one of five student-athletes who have accounted for six MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the Bobcats in 2018.

Based on the individual rankings, the Ohio wrestling team boasts seven student-athletes ranked in the top-four of their respective weight classes in the league.

OHIO Athletics posts record-setting graduation success rate
In graduation data released by the NCAA today, Ohio student-athletes have a four-class average (2008-12) of 88 percent in the Graduation Success Rate (GSR), and, in the 2011-12 cohort, have a Federal Graduation Rate or 74 percent. Ohio's GSR of 88 percent is the highest the Athletics Department has ever achieved.

Faculty and staff to receive free tickets to Wednesday football game
The Bobcats will host the Mid-American Conference East Division first-place Bulls at 7 p.m. in Peden Stadium. To receive four free tickets, faculty and staff must present their employee ID.

The OHIO vs. Buffalo football game at Peden Stadium will be Faculty and Staff Night, with Ohio University faculty and staff members receiving free admission.

Five Bobcats earn All-MAC Soccer honors
Bobcats Alivia Milesky, Maria Collica and Mandy Arnzen were named to the All-MAC Second Team, while Abby Townsend and Olivia Sensky were named to the All-Freshman Team. It is the first time since 2016 multiple Bobcats were named to the All-MAC Teams and the first time since 2007 that three Bobcats have earned the honor in the same year.

Junior QB Nathan Rourke accounted for five total touchdowns, throwing a career-high four touchdown passes and adding another on the ground in Saturday's 49-14 win over Bowling Green.

OHIO’s Perry and Sandy Sook Academic Center officially opens New building provides increased study, instructional space for student-athletes and more
Ohio University Facilities Management and Safety and Ohio Athletics recently announced the official opening of “The Perry and Sandy Sook Academic Center,” a new campus space that will provide dedicated study and instructional support for more than 425 student-athletes and group project collaboration with student peers across campus.

OHIO's football's game against Virginia moved to Nashville due to Hurricane Florence
Saturday's OHIO football game against Virginia has been relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. The change was made due to the threat of severe weather. Admission to the 4:30 p.m. game will be free.

Bobcat Hockey selling season ticket packages and single game tickets
The Bobcat Hockey team will take the ice at Bird Arena 23 times this season and Bobcat fans now have the opportunity to purchase individual tickets and season ticket packages online for all Bobcat home games.

Athletics announces enhanced football game day events
The enhancements include the new Bobcat Nation Pavilion, Peden Patio, Ohio Bobcat Club End Zone Club and a new Bobcat Authentic Team Store. The Bobcats open the season on Sept. 1 against Howard University.

OHIO Volleyball selected as 2018 MAC Preseason Favorite in Coaches' Poll
The OHIO Volleyball team has been selected to win the Mid-American Conference East Division, regular season and tournament titles in the league's 2018 preseason coaches' poll, the conference office announced today. The Bobcats earned nine of the MAC East Division's 12 first-place votes and finished with 68 points.

Junior safety Javon Hagan was chosen as one of the 35 best defensive backs in the nation by the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award National Selection Committee. He started all 13 games for the Bobcats during the 2017 season en route to earning All-MAC Second-Team honors.

Carter Cheves has been named the third head coach in the history of Ohio men's golf program. He comes to Athens after spending five years as the assistant coach at James Madison, where he helped 13 Dukes earn All-Colonial Athletic Association honors.

Bobcat alumnus Antonio Campbell to play for Orlando Magic NBA Summer League team
Alumnus Antonio Campbell will compete for the Orlando Magic in the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He put together a stellar 2015-16 campaign, earning Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America, National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I First Team All-District 14, Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC honors.

Women's Head Basketball Coach Bob Boldon has hired former Florida Gulf Coast standout and Ohio native Steph Haas as an assistant coach. She spent the last two seasons at FGCU's video coordinator.

Britni Fisher named Bobcats Diving Coach
OHIO Women's Swimming and Diving Head Coach Mason Norman recently hired Britni Fisher as the program's new diving coach. She comes to OHIO after two years as the graduate assistant at Bryant University.
