Ohio Athletics introduces Football Gameday Page
Ohio Athletics has introduced a new Football Gameday page on OhioBobcats.com to provide fans with all the information they need as they prepare to attend games at Peden Stadium this fall.

Football game day parking changes announced
The game day, non-donor parking lots in closest proximity to Peden Stadium will be $10 per vehicle. The additional game day, non-donor parking lots will remain $5 per vehicle.

Ohio Sports Network from Learfield IMG College is ready for 2019-20
The 12-station network has an over-the-air coverage area that hits three states. In addition, the broadcasts are available online through OhioBobcats.com and Tunein.com/OhioBobcats. Programming starts on Aug. 26 with the debut of Bobcat Sports Today.

Tavares Jackson promoted to Women's Basketball associate head coach 
Jackson, now in his seventh season, has helped lead Ohio to unprecedented success. Last season he helped guide the Bobcats to a 30-win season and a round of eight appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

Women's Basketball welcomes Wisconsin transfer Jasmine Hale
Hale will sit out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA Transfer rules and will have three years of playing eligibility remaining. A native of Amelia, Ohio, sge was the No. 28 ranked guard in the nation coming out of West Clermont high school.

Ohio University women’s teams receive NCAA Public Recognition Award
The NCAA has recognized Ohio University’s women’s basketball, women’s cross country and women’s golf teams as the recipients of the NCAA Public Recognition Award. This honor is bestowed on teams with an NCAA Division 1 Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.

Fourth finalist for director of OHIO Athletics position announced
Julie Cromer, who currently serves as senior deputy athletics director and SWA at the University of Arkansas, will be the fourth and final candidate to visit the Athens campus the week of Aug. 5 to discuss the director of OHIO Athletics position.

Third finalist for director of OHIO Athletics position announced
Diana Sabau, who currently serves as deputy director of athletics at The Ohio State University, will be the third of four candidates to visit the Athens campus beginning Monday, Aug. 5 to discuss the director of OHIO Athletics position.

Second finalist for director of OHIO Athletics position announced
Four finalists have been invited to interview on campus as candidates for Ohio University’s next athletics director, a position that became open after Jim Schaus announced his resignation in June. Jared Benko, who currently serves as deputy director of Athletics and CFO at Mississippi State University, will be the second of four candidates to visit the Athens campus.

Finalists for director of OHIO Athletics announced
Search committee Co-Chairs Nico Karagosian, Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the Ohio University Foundation, and Jenny Hall-Jones, Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, announced that four finalists have been invited to interview on campus as candidates for Ohio University’s next Athletics Director, a position that became open after Jim Schaus announced his resignation in June.

Football announces Fan Appreciation Day Open Practice
The Ohio football team will host an open practice at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Peden Stadium as part of a Fan Appreciation Day event. Free general admission seating will be available to the public

Former football standout A.J. Ouellette signs with Cleveland Browns
Ouellette is one of six former Bobcats currently on the training camp rosters of NFL teams, and he joins former Ohio defensive back T.J. Carrie in Cleveland. He earned MAC First-Team honors in 2018.

Housing and Residence Life limits waste from demolition by donating excess furniture [PHOTOS]
Atkinson, Smith and Armbruster residence halls are being demolished this summer as part of the Housing Capital Improvement Plan, which will add more green space to the Athens Campus. Several OHIO athletics teams volunteered to load donated furniture for Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio ReStore.

Athletics signs long-term multimedia rights deal with Learfield IMG College
Ohio Athletics has signed an agreement with Learfield IMG College as the department's exclusive rights holder for both multimedia rights and licensing rights for the next 12 years.

Loftus, Porvasnik earn WGCA All-American Scholar recognition
Freshmen Catherine Loftus and Alicia Porvasnik were named Women's Coach Coaches Association All-American Scholars. In all, 1,097 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor and must meet the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Swimming and Diving's Corrin Van Lanen named nominee for 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year Award
Van Lanen is OHIO's nominee for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award. She is one of a record 585 female college athletes across the three NCAA divisions who have been nominated for the award.<br />

Athletics unveils recruiting microsite
Developed by PrestoSports, the site features sections highlighting each of the 16 sports teams as well as support services offered to all of our student-athletes and an overview of the campus and Athens experience. The site was a collaboration between Athletics and University Communications and Marketing.

President Nellis, today, announced the members of the search committee for the next Director of OHIO Athletics after Jim Schaus announced his resignation earlier this month.

Amy Dean named interim Director of OHIO Athletics
Amy Dean has been named interim Director of OHIO Athletics effective July 1. This news follows Jim Schaus’ announced plans to step down from his role as Ohio University’s Director of Athletics effective June 30.

Game time, television info announced for Bobcats' Sept. 7 Pittsburgh game
The OHIO Football Team's 2019 matchup at Pittsburgh on Sept. 7 will kick off at 11 a.m. from Heinz Field and will be televised on the ACC Network. The Bobcats beat the Panthers in 2005.

Athletics sets program high in Academic Progress Rate for second-straight year
For the second year in a row, all 16 of the intercollegiate programs that represent Ohio Athletics achieved a multi-year Academic Progress Rate score above 970, as announced by the NCAA today in its 2017-18 data report.

Five OHIO winter sports student-athletes named MAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes
Representing the Bobcats were junior Emilia Lahtinen and senior Corrin Van Lanen of the swimming & diving team, redshirt junior Kade Kowalski of the wrestling team and sophomore Jason Carter and redshirt freshman Ben Vander Plas of the men's basketball team.

NCAA recognizes three OHIO women’s athletics programs for academic performance
The NCAA has recognized the Ohio women's basketball, women's cross country and women's golf programs for academic excellence after they scored in the top 10 percent of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Rate results.

Senior Emily Hughes named MAC Golfer of the Week
It is the second time this season that a Bobcat has earned the honor, with senior Nicole Smiley earning the honor on April 4. Hughes, a sport management major, was honored for winning the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational in Cleveland with a score of 146.

Football to host spring practice finale Saturday
The OHIO football team will hold its final 2019 spring practice on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. Prior to the practice, the annual equipment sale will take place at Peden Stadium Gate 2, which is next to the Perry and Sandy Sook Academic Center.

Morgan Geno named MAC Softball Co-Player of the Week
Morgan Geno, a communication sciences and disorders major, helped Ohio go 3-1 during the week. She set the new all-time Ohio RBI record and hit .444 in nine official at bats. She also scored four runs, hit four homers with eight RBI and slugged 1.778 with four walks.

Ohio Women's Basketball punches ticket to WNIT quarterfinals
The Ohio Women's Basketball team (30-5, 14-4 MAC) earned a spot in the Women's National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals after defeating Western Kentucky (20-15, 11-5 C-USA), 68-60, on Thursday evening inside the Convocation Center. With this win, Ohio is the first team - men's or women's – in program history to reach 30 wins in a single season.

Former team captain Jeff Boals has been named the 19th head coach in the history of the Ohio University men's basketball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Jim Schaus today.

Ohio University’s Swimming and Diving women’s team, coached by Mason Norman, has been selected as the winner of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America’s (CSCAA) Scholar All-American award.

Football opens 2019 Spring Practice March 4
The OHIO Football Team held the first of 15 spring practices on March 4 inside Walter Fieldhouse, signaling the unofficial beginning of the 2019 season. After starting the day with position meetings, the Bobcats took the field in shorts for individual, positional and team drills.

OHIO SAAC hosts Bobcat/Bulldog Indoor Field Day
The third annual Bobcat/Bulldog Indoor Field Day is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, inside Walter Fieldhouse. The event will feature eight stations facilitated by Ohio University student-athletes and Athens High School students, designed to engage the children in physical activity.

Football announces 2019 Spring Football practice schedule
The Bobcats will hold 15 practices over the span of 41 days. Spring practice will begin on Monday, March 4, inside Walter Fieldhouse and will conclude on Saturday, April 13, at Peden Stadium.

Athletics participates in 2019 MAC Mental Health Awareness Week
The Ohio Student-Athlete Advisory Committee wrapped up "Mental Health Awareness Week" as part of the Mid-American Conference Council of Student-Athletes' yearly initiative last week. The Ohio SAAC committee members hosted tabling events, workshops and were active on social media.

For the first time in Bobcat history, the Ohio University Dance Team traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the 2019 UCA and UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships.

1968-69 OHIO Men's Basketball Team began 50 years of Convo magic
Led by 20th-year head coach Jim Snyder, the 1968-69 Ohio men's basketball team opened the Convo in style and kicked off five decades of memorable games, fantastic finishes, championship celebrations and colorful personalities that have given life to the Roundhouse On Richland.

Athletics to celebrate 50th anniversary of Convocation Center Saturday
Ohio Athletics will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center on Saturday with a Sibs Weekend basketball doubleheader. Tickets are $5. Internationally known entertainer Red Panda will perform at halftime of the men's game.

Erica Johnson named MAC East Basketball Player of the Week
Johnson earned weekly conference honors for the second time in her career. She's the first Bobcat to earn the honor twice this season. She shot 60.0 percent from the field, 58.3 percent from the 3-point line and 73.3 percent from the free throw line in two wins.

The Bobcats will compete seven times during the spring season. The Bobcats will open the season Saturday, Feb. 2 at the 2019 Spring Challenge Cup.

Senior offensive linemen Joe Anderson and Joe Lowery have been selected to compete in the eighth annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, in Pasadena, Calif.

Athletics offers free admission to Women's Basketball showdown against Central Michigan
The undefeated Bobcats are off to their best start in program history and are one of just three unbeaten teams in the nation. They received two votes in the Associated Press Women's Basketball Week 10 Poll on Jan. 7. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

Former Baseball Coach Joe Carbone inducted into ABCA Hall Of Fame
Induction to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the organization. Carbone joins his former head coach, Bob Wren, who was inducted in 1978. Carbone spent 24 seasons (1989-2012) as the head baseball coach at Ohio and is the program's winningest coach.

Football's Frank Solich named 2019 AFCA president
Bobcats Head Coach Frank Solich moves up from first vice-president and succeeds outgoing president Bill Cronin of Georgetown (Ky.) College. Solich has guided OHIO to 10 bowl games with four victories, including two in a row.

OHIO Football shuts out San Diego State, 27-0, in 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl
The Bobcats earned their fourth bowl victory in program history and won back-to-back bowl championships for the second time in program history. OHIO finished a season with at least nine victories for the second year in a row and for the sixth time in 14 years.

2019 OHIO Football MAC opponents revealed; Homecoming game is Oct. 12
The OHIO Football Team has learned who its eight Mid-American Conference opponents are for the 2019 season. The Bobcats will host their annual Homecoming game on Oct. 12.

Football's Joe Lowery named MAC Player Of The Year by Pro Football Focus
According to Pro Football Focus, Lowery was third-highest graded offensive tackle across the entire nation. He allowed just nine total QB pressures on 334 snaps in pass protection. He also led the nation's tackles with his 85.3 run-blocking grade.

Athletics announces 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl ticket information
Tickets are on sale now for the Dec. 19 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. OHIO alumni, football season ticket holders, Ohio Bobcat Club members, faculty/staff, students and parents of students are encouraged to inquiry about a special ticket offer.

Athletics announces 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center celebration plans
OHIO Athletics will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Convocation Center on Saturday, Feb. 2 with a Sibs Weekend basketball doubleheader as the women's team battles the Ball State Cardinals at 1 p.m. ET and the men's team takes on the Akron Zips at 3:30 p.m. ET. Tickets for the doubleheader are $5 and include admission to both games.

A.J. Ouellette named MAC Player Of The Year by Touchdown Club of Columbus
The 2018 MAC Player of the Year award will be presented during the 64th Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Express Live! in the Arena District. Ouellette earned All-MAC First Team honors for the first time in his career.
