Ohio University’s School of Theater presents Shakespeare’s eternal classic tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet”

Ohio University’s School of Theater is proud to present “Romeo And Juliet,” written by William Shakespeare and directed by M.F.A. Directing Candidate Jonathan Hetler, from April 4–6 and April 10–13 at 8 p.m. in the Forum Theater in the RTV Building.

When the son and daughter of two families locked in an old feud are irresistibly drawn to each other, they will stop at nothing to share their passionate love. Defying the hatred and distrust surrounding them, they dare to believe they can, and must, be together. This eternal classic is a consummate tragedy of young lovers swept into a catastrophic vortex of misunderstandings, secrets and fate.

The fifth production of the 2018–19 theater season, Hetler directs his M.F.A. thesis project as the culmination of his degree in the Professional Director Training Program at OHIO, with a cast made up of undergraduates, graduates, faculty and alumni that includes Camila Benencia Courreges, Alex Amery, Haley Reese Calhoun, Stephanie Carrillo, Erik Armstrong, Chiara Ridpath, Brian Ouedraogo, Aaron Gates, Makaila McColley, David Haugen, Jackson Savage, Carson Cerney, Eva Kinneary, Chloe Grogean, Avery Pope, Alec Ring, Philip Matthews, Jesse Keller, Meghan Gaber and Hannah Woodside.

Talkbacks will follow the performances on April 6 and 10.
