ADmission Requirements:

4th-5th Grade Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement
Only currently licensed teachers who hold an Early Childhood License (age 3 to grade 3) are eligible for the Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement program.  Only currently licensed teachers with an Early Childhood license or undergraduates who graduate in spring and are expecting to receive licensure over the summer are eligible for this program. You will need to request official transcripts from any previous institutions to: Graduate College, Ohio University, 220 Research & Technology Center Athens, OH 45701. You do NOT need to provide letters of recommendation or a statement of professional goals.

Pre-K Special Needs Endorsement
Only currently licensed teachers with an Early Childhood or Intervention Specialistor license or undergraduates who graduate in spring and are expecting to receive licensure over the summer are eligible for this program.  Please include the following items: Ohio University application with official transcripts from previous institutions; resume; statement of professional goals; and one letter of recommendation.

Reading Endorsement
Applicants ust 
hold a current teaching license or certificate (if you are licensed outside of the state of Ohio, please check with your State Department of Education to ensure reciprocity. In the case of current seniors, you must have graduated before enrolling in endorsement courses and be in the process of applying for your Ohio teaching license.  You must also have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00 from an accredited college or university, have completed 9-12 credit hours of reading coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level before enrolling in the endorsement program, and be able to find three different students (at different times) to tutor during three of the four courses offered in the program. There will need to be one student from the early childhood level (K-3rd grades), one student from the middle childhood level (4th-9th grades), and one from the adolescent-to-young adult level (7th-12th grades).

Teacher Leader Endorsement
All applicants must possess a current Ohio teaching license/certificate, have completed 4 years of successful teaching, and have earned a master’s degree from an accredited institution prior to being admitted to the endorsement program
