Serving uninsured and underinsured women
The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine with the support of Susan G. Komen® Columbus and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Projects of Southeast Ohio provides free women's health services and education. Services are offered at Heritage Community Clinic in Athens and on the Mobile Health Unit that travels throughout southeastern Ohio. Our goal is to decrease late breast cancer diagnosis rates by offering free health screenings, vouchers for mammograms to qualifying women and referrals as needed.

Routine pelvic exam and pap test
Clinical services are provided by a Certified Nurse Practitioner. All clinics are comprehensive, in collaboration with mobile mammography and/or hospital systems to provide same-day clinical breast exams, pelvic exams, pap tests, hemocult tests, and screening mammograms as needed. The program works with local health departments, hospitals, health care providers, worksites, the Ohio Breast and Cervical Cancer Project, and other organizations that receive Komen funding. Breast health education is available for interested groups.
The Mobile Health Unit visits the following counties to provide Women's Cancer Screenings: Athens, Fairfield, Gallia, Guernsey, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Perry, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Vinton, Washington.
