Summer Research Opportunities

Many research and scholarly opportunities exist for medical students between years 1 and 2.  A list of opportunities can be accessed using the button below. Students may also find summer research opportunities by conducting their own search.

The  Summer Research Experience Application and Approval Guide  provides a detailed step-by-step process for receiving Heritage College approval for your summer research experience and ensures professional and general liability insurance coverage during the summer.  Office of Research and Grants approval is required by all students conducting research in the summer regardless of where the research activities are taking place. Failure to obtain approval from the Office of Research and Grants could result in your inability to publish or present your work at a conference and could result in a Professionalism Form due to disregard of policies and procedures.

Students participating in research activities must complete a Summer Research Experience Approval Form.    The submission of this form  starts  the approval process and notifies the Office of Research and Grants of your intent to conduct research during the summer. Students will work with the Office of Research and Grants staff to complete all required paperwork and obtain Ohio University Office of Research Compliance approval as needed.

Summer Research Experience Approval Forms are due APRIL 15.
