SOUL is a liaison group aimed at assisting the Office of Sustainability, Ecology and Energy Conservation Committee, and the university further implementation of the Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan.

SIAC is a new organization in FY14 that is supervised by a faculty advisor, supported by a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Sustainability, and reports to the Ohio University Foundation. In partnership with the Student Equity Management Group (SEMG) and the Fixed Income Management Group (SIMG), SIAC will work to develop institutional portfolios relating to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investing.

Eco Reps

Eco Reps is a student organization focused on offering friendly, sustainable education to its peers in a multitude of ways. They also participate in various ecological volunteer opportunities around Athens in order to improve the community and collaborate with other organizations, including the Office of Sustainability, to promote environmentalism. Eco Reps strives to encourage a sustainable culture around campus by example; they aim to be personally sustainable, constantly educating themselves about what it means to live a green lifestyle.

Call to Sustain

Sustainability Implementation Class

The Office of Sustainability facilitates the Sustainability Implementation Class, ES 4832/5832. It involves students in a critical analysis of the Ohio University Sustainability Plan and/or community-based projects that support the Ohio University Office of Sustainability’s mission/vision. 


Students will be directly engaged in the exploration of contemporary activism, leadership, professionalism and local issues. More information on the course can be found here.
