Congratulations to Natalie Kruse, '04, for winning the Recent Graduate Alumni Award. This award honors recent graduates who have remained active in the Ohio University community and whose achievements reflect the impact of their education. Dr. Kruse worked on the Environmental Studies Advisory Council for Sustainability Planning-Transportation Working Group, representing Ohio University as an ambassador for environmental restoration and conservation. She has also been heavily involved in the Raccoon Creek Partnership, serving as Vice Chair in 2009-2012, chair member in 2010-2012, and on the Fundraising Committee in 2009-2012. A native of Athens, Kruse received a degree in Civil Engineering form Ohio University at age 20, although she had been taking classes at the school since she was 11 years old. She received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Geosciences from Newcastle University in northern England, and has done research on watershed management, underground mines, and post-industrial pollution. She currently serves as an Assistant professor of Environmental Studies in the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. Once again, congratulations to Natalie Kruse!
