The Voinovich School congratulates Undergraduate Research Scholar, Elizabeth Young, on receiving the Jeffrey A. Finkle Ohio University Economic Development Internship. The highly competitive internship offers students the opportunity to intern at the International Economic Development Council (IDEC) to gain practical, hands-on experience in local economic development issues and trends.

IDEC is the world’s largest economic development membership organization and interns work to build and sustain healthy, just, and competitive communities. This prestigious internship is a result of Elizabeth’s hard work and diverse educational and professional work experiences over the past four years. She explains, “I'm very honored to be put in a position like this. I know all the candidates were well-qualified and I can't wait to represent Ohio University this summer. I'm looking forward to diving into the world of non-profits and economic development.”

Young, a senior majoring in Political Science and minoring in Mathematics, is very involved around campus as a private tutor, SI instructor, peer mentor and serving as President of her pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta. The Voinovich School wishes her the best of luck in continuing her professional development as she heads to Washington DC this summer.
