Registration is now open for the 2014 Ohio University Student Research and Creative Activity Expo. Registration opens on Wednesday, January 15 and closes on Friday, February 28.

The annual event attracts more than 600 student presenters from dozens of disciplines. More than 2,000 students, faculty, staff, community members and local middle school and high school students attend to learn more about how Ohio University students are engaged in research, scholarship and creative activity.

Participation is open to all undergraduate, graduate and medical students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, on the Athens and regional campuses.

Monetary awards are offered in each session.  The first place presentation will receive $200 and second place will receive $100, or the judges will award a joint first place prize of $150 to two presentations.

The Voinovich School will also be awarding and additional prize for students working on projects at the school.  To be eligible, students must show how their work creates public value through building public or private sector capacity, providing public or private sector technical and operational support, or encouraging economic competitiveness at the local (Athens), regional (Appalachia), state (Ohio), national or international level in one of three areas: (1) Public Administration and Policy Innovation; (2) Energy and the Environment; or (3) Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness. Two award winners will be chosen and receive a prize of $150 each.

The expo will be held from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 10, at the Convocation Center. To register, please visit http://www.ohio.edu/studentexpo.
