Weinberg to continue as Voinovich School Dean

September 29, 2015

Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit has announced that Mark L. Weinberg will continue his appointment as dean of Ohio University’s George V. Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs through June 30, 2018.

As founding dean of the Voinovich School, Weinberg has provided strategic leadership for the School. Weinberg will continue development of the Center for Public and Social Innovation, which is planned to launch this fall, and expansion of the Appalachian New Economy Partnership. These and other initiatives are part of university’s vision to strategically position the Voinovich School nationally in entrepreneurial innovation, leadership and education across sectors.

The School is now ranked in the top 50 innovative public affairs schools in the U.S. by Best Value Schools. The School’s innovative blend of real-world problem solving and key government, nonprofit sector and industry partnerships with student education provides unique learning opportunities for students across campus.  The Center for Entrepreneurship, a partnership with the College of Business, was named best emerging program in the U.S. by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. And the School’s TechGROWTH Ohio partnership was just selected as the winner of the CDFA Ohio Financing Roundtable Excellence Award.
