Voinovich School welcomes Johnson as new Director of Professional and Executive Education

Jay JohnsonThe Voinovich School is pleased to welcome Jay Johnson to our staff as the new Director of Professional and Executive Education, located at the new OHIO Dublin Center in central Ohio. Jay just retired from an outstanding career in the Marine Corps.  He most recently served as Executive Director of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Previously, Jay served as Chief of Staff/Commander in Okinawa, Japan and Marine Corp Commander in Quantico, Virginia, among other positions.  He has a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from The Eisenhower School in Washington D.C., a Master of Public Administration from Webster University in St. Louis and a B.S. from Ohio University.  After three decades moving between states as well as continents for his service in the Marine Corps, Jay’s position at the Voinovich School represents a homecoming, as he was born and raised in southeastern Ohio.

The Director of Professional and Executive Education will work in partnership with other OHIO colleges and the City of Dublin, as well as the faculty and professionals at the Voinovich School.  He will work as part of a team at the OHIO Dublin Center, which includes the Senior Director of Healthcare Innovation and Initiatives and representative from the College of Business, to build at vibrant professional and executive education program.

Jay will provide collaborative leadership to launch a leadership consortium; develop a revenue stream from grants, contracts and instruction through customized leadership and talent development and delivery; teach, mentor and coach in this area, and work with other University partners to develop professional certificate programs. The primary focus for this position at the Dublin Center is on the central Ohio market, although Jay can work with prospective clients located anywhere as the opportunity is presented.
