Jackie Kloepfer Head Shot The Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is excited to welcome Jacqueline Kloepfer into her role of research associate. Kloepfer works primarily with faculty member Dr. Derek Kauneckis on environmental policy, local governance and climate change. Her specific responsibilities include creating, managing and editing geospatial datasets, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and much more.

After graduating from the Voinovich School in 2015, Kloepfer became a student worker as research associate under Kauneckis, and a few months later became a part-time staff member. She also received her undergraduate degree in anthropology from Ohio University, with a minor in geography.

During her time between undergrad and graduate school, Kloepfer worked in a number of different roles from archaeology field technician to intern at Ohio Department of Natural Resources. She also participated in an AmeriCorps program based in Nevada where she worked on environmental restoration projects throughout the state.

Finding herself back at Ohio University in the Voinovich School, Kloepfer developed her skills in geographic information systems (GIS) in the environmental studies program. Her professional interests in environmental monitoring, climate policy, GIS, and sustainability created an outstanding reason for her to remain at the Voinovich School post -graduation.

She is excited to continue working with the current MSES students and undergrads as well as growing her understanding and application of GIS.
