Ryan Watson Venture CafeOhio University Center for Entrepreneurship kicks off the first Venture Café of the semester with Ryan Watson, co-founder and principal of Upsourced Accounting. Watson is also the head of finance and operations for Ahalogy. His talk will be held at the Living Learning Center room 130 on Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Watson has a non-traditional entrepreneurial background – he received a BSBA in accounting and finance from The Ohio State University and began as a CPA at Deloitte and Touche, working in credit and debt management.

Watson went on to serve as the CEO of Sqrl, a software as a service (SaaS) that gathers client information for user companies. Sqrl won the Outstanding Emerging Innovation and EY Entrepreneur of the Year Edge Awards. Sqrl was founded under Upsourced Accounting, Watson’s start-up company, and then graduated from the Brandery accelerator. Upsourced Accounting provides affordable, online accounting services to small businesses.

While continuing to work at Upsourced Accounting, Watson took on the position at Ahalogy. The company creates marketing solutions for brands and helps to produce content, joining the brand marketing industry and expanding at an incredible rate.

Watson’s entrepreneurial experience makes him an excellent candidate to speak at the first Venture Café of 2017 to share his knowledge of the world of start-up companies. Refreshments will be provided by the Center for Entrepreneurship, a partnership between the College of Business and the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, and all students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
