The Ohio University Student Senate Alumni Society will hold their Fourth Annual Advocacy Event, sponsored by the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, on Wednesday, March 29 from 5:30 – 7:30 at the Ohio Capital Atrium in the Ohio Statehouse at 1 Capital Square in Columbus.

This free event offers an opportunity for Ohio University alumni to meet and mentor current students, as well as discuss effective advocacy in a new age of politics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers including:

  • Eli Faes, Legislative and Public Affairs Director, Ohio Department of Higher Education
  • State Rep. Niraj Antani
  • Eric Burchard, Director, Government Relations, Ohio University
  • Melissa Wervey Arnold, CEO, Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Kristen Easterday, Director, Government Affairs at Columbus Regional Airport Authority (moderator)

Donations to the Student Senate Endowment are encouraged. The endowment allows OHIO student senators to attend state and national conferences, as well as allow Student Senate to host speakers, workshops and roundtable discussions at Ohio University. These experiences provide Student Senate with an opportunity for discussion and growth in student government. More information about how to donate to the endowment can be found here.

Registration for the event must be completed by March 24. Parking information can be found here. For additional information, contact Board Member and Advocacy Co-Chair Lori Kershner at lori@lmkadvocacy.com
