The first Rain to River grant funded webinar entitled  “Rain to River: Raise Awareness about Stormwater Pollution” will run on Tuesday, March 28 from 12 -1 p.m.

During this webinar, Sarah Cornwell, Environmental Specialist, will teach participants how to protect local waterways by organizing their own storm drain stenciling volunteer event.  They will also learn methods to connect residents to their local waterways and empower them to stencil educational messages next to storm drains.

The webinar will teach everything needed to hold a successful stenciling event within any community, including how to borrow all of the supplies need from Ohio University’s Voinovich School for free. This webinar is designed for everyone, from someone in a unit of local government, to a non-profit community organization, or an organization seeking public service activities. However, this event is tailored to the Appalachian region of the Ohio River Watershed.

Webinar and stenciling supplies are funded by a grant from Ohio EPA’s Ohio Environmental Education Fund.
