Graduate and undergraduate students alike can join students from all programs across campus Thurs., April 11 in the Convocation Center to show off their original work at the 2019 Student Research & Creative Activity Expo.

The Student Expo gives students a chance to present all forms of original works, including posters, exhibits, films and performances. The annual event attracts more than 850 student presenters from dozens of disciplines. Thousands of students, faculty, staff, community members and local middle school and high school students attend to learn more about how Ohio University students are engaged in research, scholarship and creative activity.

Awards will be presented to the best works in each category. The first-place winner will receive $150 and second place will receive $75. Several sponsors will also offer special award categories. Additionally, the Voinovich School will offer its own awards to both graduate and undergraduate projects in both an environmental category and a public affairs category.

Last year, Voinovich School students took home 13 awards for their research on topics such as plastic waste, ecotourism and cultivating bacteria for food. Twenty-nine projects were presented by Voinovich School students in total.

Registration for the Student Expo is open now and will close at midnight on Fri., Feb. 28. Don’t delay registration –– participation will be capped at 850 students, and only 12 presentations will be judged in each category.
