In this position, Mackenzie will organize the Voinovich School’s events, including annual conferences and programs, guest lectures, workshops and meetings, and more. Mackenzie graduated from Ohio University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in restaurant, hotel, and tourism management. From there, she began a career at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center, where she served in a variety of roles; most recently, she was the Front Desk Manager.

“As an alum of Ohio University, I am thrilled to be able to work for and with the students, staff, faculty, and the community,” Kucharsky said.

She also previously worked as a creative events executive for Ohio University’s University Program Council, planning events for the OHIO community.

“It’s hard to pin point what I am most excited about in this new role,” she said. “There are so many events I am looking forward to! I just know it is going to be beyond rewarding to have a hand in organizing all of our events focused on entrepreneurship, economic development, the environment, and public policy.”

“I’ve developed such a deep appreciation for Appalachian Ohio and the work that the Voinovich School does has such a huge impact on the economy of the region,” she said. “I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of that work.”
