Voinovich School announces information session for prospective environmental studies students

Explore the Master of Science in Environmental Studies program at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs Fall Information Session on Friday, November 8 from noon until 4 p.m. in Building 22 at The Ridges.

Current students, graduates and program faculty will be available for informal discussions on what to expect as an Environmental Studies student.

The Master of Science in Environmental Studies program focuses on sustainability education. The program prepares future environmental leaders, advances sustainability literacy, collaborates in teaching and research with multi-disciplinary faculty, and works in partnership across the community, state, region, country and world.

The schedule for the open house is as follows:
•    12:00 – 1 p.m. - Environmental Studies Student Research Panel Presentation (pizza provided)
•    1:30 – 2 p.m. - Learn about the multidisciplinary Voinovich School, where public policy, environmental studies and entrepreneurship come together.
•    2 – 3 p.m. - Talk with faculty, staff, students and alumni from your program of interest about  diverse research projects and the School’s learning by doing approach.
•    3 – 4 p.m. - Learn from faculty and current students about the Voinovich School’s applied learning projects, with several activities available depending on your area of interest.  Discuss graduate school funding opportunities in the area of watershed restoration, renewable energy, climate adaptation and resilience, bioenergy, and our newest funded NSF program in Organic Waste Life Cycles.
