Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships carry a stipend of about $9,000 for three academic quarters, plus a tuition scholarship for both the academic year and the adjoining summers. Assistants are expected to carry a full load of 12 hours per quarter and to perform a variety of tasks, including assisting the faculty in teaching basic courses and undertaking research assignments, for 15 hours per week. Assistantships can be extended for one additional quarter if the student is making satisfactory academic progress toward the degree.

Tuition Scholarships

Scholarships covering tuition expenses alone are awarded on the basis of academic ability. Recipients are required to take a full academic load of 12 credit hours per quarter and are required to work six hours per week on departmental assignments. Support may be extended somewhat beyond one year if you are making satisfactory academic progress toward the degree.
