Spirituality in Counseling

Workshop Objectives: Identify client core beliefs and values to assist them in gaining insight into the ways their core beliefs and values are reflected in their behavior. Explore client spiritual and religious beliefs to assist clients in effectively resolving their challenges. Define the position of client religious beliefs to determine if their spirituality is a constructive or destructive (guilt producing) force in life. Develop an understanding of the ethical standards when incorporating spirituality into the counseling construct.   Examine/identify personal cultural, ethnic/racial identity characteristics and their possible impact on decisions in the counseling process


All professional development workshops in this series will be held at Ohio University Zanesville at 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio. Each of these workshops has been approved for 3 CE hours by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Columbus, Ohio.


Workshops run from 8:30 am-12:00 pm unless otherwise noted.  Registration fee is $55; non-credit observer fee is $15
